| This is one of the oldest brick structures in Rural Hall. It was called A. L. Payne & Sons Grocery. The two-story brick building burned down in 1907 and was rebuilt in the 1920's. For many years, it sold a variety of things, including clothing, dry goods, notions, shoes, hardware, feeds, seeds, fertilizers and groceries. Tobacco flues were also made here and sold. This building is now Knight's Antiques. |
